Lafayette Anticipations Foundation / Paris

a new place of residence and exhibition for artists

In the heart of le Marais, in a former Parisian building, this new place of residence for artists from Lafayette Foundation offers both production tools and flexible exhibition spaces. The body of the building is kept and fitted out very simply. The inner courtyard of the bloc is transformed into a glass patio with four mobile platforms. These platforms allow multiple space configurations with an exhibition height of nearly 16 m for monumental works. The lighting project accompanies the exhibition spaces with service lines: fluorescent lines and lighting tracks. At the heart of the building, as a complement of daylight, the underside of the platforms is covered with mats of fluorescent tubes. They are programed as a media screen. © images by OMA
