“les enfants du paradis” cinema
Lighting design for the cinema “les enfants du Paradis” in Chartres, France - named after the famous French film “children of paradise”. The façade is decorated with a black concrete mesh designed by the architect Rudy Ricciotti. Color changing LED bars provide a low-angle backlight to the mesh, which gives a very subtle impression of lightness. There are residential accommodations behind the mesh; and the lighting design is aimed at preserving the privacy of their occupiers.

The ramps were specially designed to produce varying color effects ranging from amber to red. The pre-programmed lighting creates an interlacing of shadows, twinkles and waves.
