fabric museum
This project to renovate the Lyon Fabric Museum magnifies the existing heritage and renews the museum’s identity. Enclosed by a contemporary extension, the mansions have been renovated to house permanent and temporary exhibitions. Light is used to enhance the museography, which showcases the richness of the collections. It is essential to enhance the collections, to make the exhibitions easier to read and to emphasise the viewing areas rather than the circulation areas. This score of atmospheres is orchestrated by playing with the colours and framing of the light beams distributed from the rails installed behind the false textile ceiling. Flexible, programmable and accessible via hatches, the system optimises visual comfort. The project also respects the obligations of preventive conservation of the works.
