Frères Lumière
In collaboration with Presents and MOZ Paysage, the Frères Lumière avenue and the rue du Premier Film in Lyon are currently being designed. The avenue, also known as the ‘vélorue’, is in search of a radical change, offering a considerable spring in the step of the 8th arrondissement. Street lighting is highlighted by LED lanterns on 4m-high lighting poles. This type of pedestrian furniture reinforces the desire for a calmer street, where walkers, bicycles and vehicles enjoy a reduced rhythm. The lighting on the rue du Premier Film is provided by the reuse of existing poles. The facades of the Frères Lumière museum are partly lit by inground fixtures, highlighting the existing heritage. The greening of the public space for this project provides an urban quality, illuminated from sundown to ensure the local residents safety and comfort.
