GARAGE CENTER FOR CONTEMPORARY CULTURE is a renovation of the famous restaurant 1960s Vremena Goda building, a prefabricated concrete pavilion abandoned for over 20 years. The GCCC offers 5400 m2 of exhibition galleries on two levels, a creative center for children, shop, café, auditorium and offices. The design preserves the original elements of the Soviet era while incorporating a range of innovative features and architectural museum. Our very simple lighting project plays on the accumulation of continuous lines or luminaires. The whole thing retains a very raw appearance. The facades are illuminated by lines of LEDs. © OMA pictures.
