Museum hub Beauvoisine
At the crossroads of the ancient and the contemporary, this project to merge two of Rouen’s most emblematic cultural venues : the Natural History Museum and the Museum of Antiquities. This museum centre is both a scientific observatory and a player in social and environmental changes. Designed as a prototype for a new generation of museum that incorporates the lessons of scientific multidisciplinarity to create a space for meeting, reflecting and sharing around a new definition of relationship between humans and between humans and nature, and between humans themselves. Much more than a simple urban or landscaping project, this site is a space for art and history. A building that adapts to its environment with an integrative ecological and contextual approach. All the lighting is LED technology, controlled by three-way lighting rails and a manager management system, allowing the lighting to be exhibition rooms. Exterior lighting will be provided by low bollards to mark pathways, and works in the square will be highlighted by occasional lighting on an independent network.
