Museum of Lille
Interior and exterior lighting design of the museum building and scenographic lighting of the exhibition rooms. At night, the interior lighting of the building gives a lantern effect that vibrates to the rhythm of the museum’s uses. The exterior lighting is intended to be organic and poetic, according to the landscape concept. It deliberately contrasts with the lighting of the interior spaces, whose contemporary architectural style is accompanied by soft light. The lighting thus enhances the volumes and space of the building. Without sacrificing a richness of lighting ambience, the project integrates and prioritises a sobriety of lighting and discretion in line with high visual comfort requirements. The natural lighting of the building is favoured in the spaces that allow it, with artificial lighting being added as required and after dark. It is also adapted to the specific objects on display (geological, zoological collections…), according to the preventive conservation measures of the works.
