The architecture of the Palais du Commerce is the main subject of the nocturnal identity of the Republic Square in Rennes. We propose to compose a nocturnal illumination that magnifies this architecture to make it an engine of atmosphere to revitalise this place, it will be sublimated, giving it greater visibility at nightfall. We also propose to compose the lighting of the building by not limiting it to the façades, but extending it to the roofs. In the centre, the dome is illuminated by lighting revealing its dormer windows and sculptural decorations. Particular emphasis is given to the top of the dome, with neutral light, revealing the historic zinc work in the cap. The lighting of the remarkable staircase thanks to a led strip integrated in the handrail allows the diffusion of a warm light inside the structure. This diffusion of white light provides sufficient illuminance in the heart of the square. This light can also be adapted to the square events and be reinforced if necessary.
