The Fabric of Europ
It is a symbolic “data design” scenography entitled The Fabric of Europe that inaugurates the French Presidency of the Council of Europe. Imagined by Ateliers Adeline Rispal, in collaboration with the graphic design agency Si | Studio irrésistible, the design project for the two buildings of the Council of the European Union (Justus Lispius and Europa) represents the material that the European nations weave together. Ribbons designed from the colours of the flags of the member states form the warp and weft threads, weaving the history and ambitions of Europe by showing the links between the nations. Seven spaces, from the halls to the lifts, host The Fabric of Europe, declined in several forms - textile, digital and artistic. Two installations are particularly noteworthy: a 16-metre-long data-weaving fresco in the Europa Forum, and a monumental 650 m² textile sail in the Justus Lipsus atrium. © Ateliers Adeline Rispal, Studio Irrésistible
