the poles of the Part-Dieu shopping center
On the high terraces of the shopping center, we have designed in addition to the general lighting, an identity element to the project: columns in the spirit of the distance cylinders and the posts of the railings, but at a larger size. These cylindrical columns, 4.50m high, incorporate a series of light points directed towards the ground both for general lighting and to highlight certain particular points (reading light on a bench for example). Due to the low thickness of the slab, these poles are placed on special extra-flat blocks. These weights are made of corten steel plates, which distribute the load according to the load-bearing capacity of the slab. This lighting can be dimmed for adjustments and for security watch levels, after the center is closed.
